  • 1 package frozen gyoza (Japanese dumplings)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth Homemade broth can enhance the flavor.
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups spinach or other leafy greens Feel free to add any preferred vegetables.
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken or vegetable broth and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and soy sauce to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  3. Carefully add the frozen gyoza into the boiling broth. Cook them for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top.
  4. Once the gyoza are cooked, add the spinach and chopped green onions. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the greens are wilted.
  5. Drizzle the sesame oil into the soup and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and ladle the soup into bowls.

Notes

Serve Gyoza Soup hot, garnished with extra chopped green onions or a sprinkle of sesame seeds if desired. Pair it with a simple salad or some rice for a complete meal. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm it on the stove or in the microwave.
