Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe avocados Choose avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure.
  • 1 piece lime, juiced Add more lime if you like your guacamole tangy.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro You can mix herbs like dill or parsley for variation.
  • 2 pieces Roma tomatoes, diced Substitute with cherry tomatoes for a sweeter flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 piece jalapeño, minced (optional) For an added kick, if desired.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed. Scoop the flesh into a medium-sized bowl. Avoid cutting too deeply to prevent bruising the fruit.
  2. Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados until desired consistency is reached—smooth or chunky.
  3. Pour in the lime juice and sprinkle the salt over the avocado mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Add the diced onion, chopped cilantro, Roma tomatoes, minced garlic, and jalapeño (if using). Stir until well combined, taking care not to over mix.
  5. Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl. Enjoy fresh with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh at room temperature. Can be garnished with a sprig of cilantro or lime wedge. Serve with crispy tortilla chips or fresh veggies.
