Make the Teriyaki Sauce
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 3/4 cup of water, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, and brown sugar. Stir to mix and bring it to a low boil.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of water and cornstarch until smooth.
- Stir the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and allow the sauce to thicken.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in the orange zest. Set aside.
Prepare the Stir Fry
- In a wok or large skillet, add sesame oil and heat over medium-high.
- Add the diced onion and sauté until it softens.
- Add the ground turkey and cook until fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F, about 7-10 minutes.
Add Vegetables
- Once the turkey is cooked, add broccoli florets and shredded carrots.
- Cook until the vegetables are heated through and tender.
Combine
- Lower the heat and pour the teriyaki sauce over the stir-fried turkey and veggies.
- Let it simmer for several minutes, mixing to coat everything well.
Serve
- Serve the stir fry hot over a bed of rice or quinoa.
