Ingredients
  

Vegetables
  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed Fresh green beans are recommended for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter Melted for sautéing mushrooms.
Toppings
  • 1 cup fried onions Can add more for garnish.
Seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust based on personal preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil water and blanch the green beans for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until they are soft.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sautéed mushrooms, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with fried onions.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the casserole cool completely, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and place it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen in an airtight container for longer storage. Consider adding shredded cheese or bacon for variations.
