Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  3. In a large casserole dish, toss in the fresh green beans and pour the creamy soup mixture over them. Stir gently until evenly coated.
  4. Stir in half of the French-fried onions.
Baking
  1. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 25 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining French-fried onions (and cheese if using) on top.
  3. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  4. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh green beans for the best crunch; leftovers can be transformed into a delicious Green Bean Casserole Hash.
