Bagel Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour Use gluten-free flour if desired.
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain Greek yogurt for the best results.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For brushing on bagels.

  • sesame seeds Optional
  • onion flakes Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt to the mixture and combine until a dough forms. Knead the dough about 20 times.
  4. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 4 equal pieces.
  2. Shape each piece into bagels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush the bagels with the beaten egg and sprinkle with any desired seasonings.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  5. Allow the bagels to rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Wrap well in plastic or place in a freezer-safe bag. Experiment with different toppings to find your favorite flavor combination.
