Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure it's properly softened for easy spreading.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk Optional for creaminess.
  • a pinch salt
Garlic Butter Mixture
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons kewpie mayo Adds a nice flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. Slice the bagels in half and spread the cream cheese filling on each half.
Garlic Butter Mixture and Baking
  1. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, milk, kewpie mayo, oregano, grated parmesan, and salt.
  2. Brush this garlic butter mixture over the bagels.
  3. Place the bagels on a baking sheet and bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown all around.

Notes

These bagels are best served warm, straight from the oven. They can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. For extra flavor, consider adding spices like red pepper flakes or jalapeños to the filling and garlic butter.
