Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar, then add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold into the wet mixture.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the Halloween candy over the first layer of batter.
  6. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and spread to cover the candy.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Allow brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For better flavor, use quality cocoa powder. Make sure to let the brownies cool completely for clean cuts.
