Preparation
- Drain the mozzarella balls well and pat dry with paper towels.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: mix flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning in the first; beat eggs in the second; and combine breadcrumbs with 2 tsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp salt in the third.
- Coat the mozzarella balls by dipping them into flour, then egg, and finally rolling them in breadcrumbs. For extra crunch, dip them back in the egg and breadcrumbs.
Freezing
- Place the coated mozzarella balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1-2 hours.
Frying
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the mozzarella balls in small batches for 60-90 seconds until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to drain them on a paper towel-lined plate and immediately sprinkle with salt, parmesan, and parsley.
Serving
- Serve the fried mozzarella balls warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Keep oil hot for crispy texture, and consider serving alongside a fresh arugula salad or garlic bread.
