Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Roast beef Use quality roast beef for best flavor; many grocery stores carry pre-sliced roast beef for convenience.
  • 8 pieces Slider buns You can find slider buns in the bakery section or consider making your own if you have time.
  • 1 cup Caramelized onions Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for a few days.
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup Au jus sauce Serve warm for dipping.
Flavor Enhancers
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted for brushing.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
  3. Layer generous portions of roast beef and Swiss cheese on the bottom halves of the buns.
  4. Top with a heaping amount of caramelized onions, distributing evenly.
  5. Place the top halves of the buns over the fillings to create sliders.
Baking
  1. In a small bowl, melt butter, then mix in garlic powder and pepper. Brush this mixture over the tops of the sliders.
  2. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, watching until the cheese is melted, and the buns are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a side of au jus sauce for dipping.

Notes

These sliders are best enjoyed hot, right out of the oven. Consider serving them on a wooden board or in a shallow basket lined with parchment paper for a rustic presentation. Pair with crispy fries, fresh salad, or coleslaw.
