Method
Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions.
- Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain and set aside.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet.
- Stir in the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.
Season and Serve
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately, topped with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Don’t overcook the pasta! Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Adjust pasta water if the sauce seems too thick. Experiment with different cheeses and enjoy garnishes!
