Ingredients

Sliders
  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls sliced horizontally, tops and bottoms kept intact
  • 1 lb deli roast beef thinly sliced
  • 12 provolone cheese slices
Buttery Topping
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 yellow onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Au Jus
  • 2 cups beef broth or au jus mix for dipping
Optional Toppings
  • Dijon mustard or horseradish mayo for extra flavor

Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms together. Place the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  2. Layer the roast beef evenly across the buns, then add provolone cheese slices. Replace the top halves of the buns.
  3. In a small pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and golden. Stir in garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon the mixture over the top of the buns.
  4. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 5–7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
  5. Heat beef broth or au jus in a saucepan. Pour into bowls for dipping. Serve sliders hot with au jus on the side.

Notes

Make these ahead of time and refrigerate unbaked for up to a day. Add jalapeños or swap cheeses for variation. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days or freeze individually.
