  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined For the freshest shrimp, check your local seafood market or grocery store.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh minced garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter dish.
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese Use room temperature cheese for smoother melting.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to preference.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped
  • to serve Pasta, rice, or bread Use your choice of serving base.

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
  3. Carefully add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Once the shrimp are cooked, pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Gradually add the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the creamy garlic shrimp over hot pasta, rice, or with bread for dipping.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Best served hot. Pair with a green salad and a glass of white wine for an elegant dinner. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days, or freeze for a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
