- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Carefully add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Gradually add the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the creamy garlic shrimp over hot pasta, rice, or with bread for dipping.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Best served hot. Pair with a green salad and a glass of white wine for an elegant dinner. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days, or freeze for a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
