  • 1 piece large egg Replace with flaxseed egg for a vegan version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips Optional add-ins.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well blended.
  4. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, then stir to combine.
  6. Add the flour and mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  7. If desired, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing.
