Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 pieces hard-boiled eggs Prepare ahead or use leftover eggs from Easter.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Can be substituted with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika (for garnish) Add to taste for garnish.
  • Food coloring (for dyeing) Use for vibrant colored egg whites.
  • Various creative fillings (e.g., avocado, bacon, herbs) Additional flavors can be incorporated.
  • Spring garnishes (e.g., chopped chives, thinly sliced radishes) Fresh toppings for decoration.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by hard-boiling the eggs. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let the eggs sit for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Transfer them to an ice bath to cool down completely.
  3. Once cooled, peel the eggs gently under running water to make the process easier and slice them in half lengthwise.
  4. Remove the yolks using a spoon and place them in a mixing bowl.
  5. Using a fork, mash the yolks until smooth, then mix in mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. If you wish to get creative, incorporate additional fillings like mashed avocado or crumbled bacon into the yolk mixture.
  7. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the halved egg whites.
  8. For a festive look, use food coloring to dye the egg whites.
  9. Garnish your deviled eggs with fresh toppings like finely chopped chives or thin slices of radishes.
  10. Serve chilled as a fantastic appetizer or snack that everyone will enjoy.

Notes

For best flavor, serve chilled. Consider pairing with a refreshing salad or light wine.
