  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can be replaced with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Toppings and Optional Ingredients
  • Pastel candy centers (such as M&Ms or chocolate eggs) For decorating the cookies.
  • Chocolate for drizzling Optional, can enhance flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until blended.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Gently press a pastel candy center into the top of each ball.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and cookies are set around the edges.
  2. Let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  3. (Optional) Drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies.

Notes

For best results, serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for longer storage.
