Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package Dumpling wrappers Usually found in the frozen section of grocery stores.
  • 1 lb Ground meat (beef, chicken, or pork) Feel free to swap with plant-based alternatives.
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese Can be left at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups Spinach, fresh
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground meat for about 5-7 minutes until browned, breaking it into crumbles with a spatula. Add the spinach and stir for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well blended.
Assembly
  1. In a baking dish, begin with a layer of marinara sauce, spreading evenly across the bottom.
  2. Layer the dumpling wrappers over the sauce, followed by the meat mixture, then the ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  3. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into squares for serving.

Notes

Best served hot. Consider pairing with a side salad and red wine. Adjust cheese ratios and add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
