Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 bottle 1 bottle of red wine Use good quality wine for best flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup of brandy Can be substituted with whiskey or rum.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup of honey or sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 1 orange, sliced Garnish with additional orange slices if desired.
  • 1 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 4 cinnamon sticks For aromatic flavor.
  • 5 5 whole cloves
  • 5 5 star anise
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp of vanilla extract Adds depth of flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a crockpot, combine the red wine, brandy, and honey or sugar.
  2. Add the sliced orange and lemon, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Cover and heat on low for 2-3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Once heated, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids.
  6. Serve warm in mugs, garnished with additional fruit or spices if desired.

Notes

Crockpot Mulled Wine is best served warm. This drink is great for holiday parties and can be enjoyed by the fireplace or at family gatherings. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
