Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef You can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Cooking
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup Provides rich flavor to the meatballs.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Can substitute with provolone or cheddar.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them in the crockpot.
Cooking
  1. Pour the French onion soup over the meatballs.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  3. About 10 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and cover until melted.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté the onions before adding them to the meatball mixture. If you want a bit of a kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture. Make sure not to overcrowd the crockpot to ensure even cooking.
