Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder Choose a well-marbled cut for tenderness.
Sauce Mixture
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Use your favorite flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional) Add for heat.
For Serving
  • to taste buns Buns for serving Serve on soft buns with extra BBQ sauce.

Preparation
  1. Place the pork shoulder in the crock pot.
  2. In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
  2. Remove the pork, shred it with two forks, and return it to the crock pot to mix with the sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve on buns with extra BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes
