Ingredients

Pasta Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine) Choose your favorite! Spaghetti twirls beautifully, while fettuccine holds the sauce like a pro.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined) Opt for fresh or frozen; just make sure they're the star of your plate with an irresistible sweet flavor.
  • 2 cups heavy cream This is where the magic happens! Heavy cream creates that dreamy, luscious texture that makes every bite unforgettable.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use freshly grated for a bump in flavor that store-bought just can't compete with!
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Sautéing garlic makes your kitchen smell heavenly. Don’t skip it for that aromatic depth!
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive oil A good-quality oil will enhance the overall flavor; drizzle it like a gourmet chef!
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for balancing the flavors—don’t be shy!
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish) This adds a pop of color and freshness—like a little garden on your plate!

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, leaving a hint of starchy water for later, if needed.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the garlic and shrimp.
  3. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until it melts smoothly into the sauce.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta in the creamy shrimp sauce until well coated.
  6. Serve the pasta hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Thaw frozen shrimp in the refrigerator overnight. Don't overcook shrimp. Use leftover pasta water to adjust sauce consistency. You can add vegetables or swap shrimp for chicken or scallops.
