Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease your baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes into the dish, sprinkling with salt, pepper, and half of the shredded cheeses.
- Add the remaining potatoes, followed by more salt, pepper, and the rest of the cheeses.
- In a bowl, mix the cream or milk with minced garlic and chopped herbs, then pour evenly over the potatoes.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
