Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Fresh halibut fillets Look for firm, translucent flesh with a mild scent of the sea.
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Creamy and rich; homemade mayo can add flair.
  • 2 tablespoons Citrus juice Lemon or lime juice for brightness.
  • 1 pinch Salt Essential for enhancing flavors.
  • 1 pinch Black pepper Freshly cracked for depth and heat.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder Better than fresh garlic in this recipe.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika Adds smokiness and color.
  • optional Fresh herbs Such as parsley or dill for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, citrus juice, a pinch of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Place halibut fillets in a baking dish and spread the creamy mixture generously over the top.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  2. Optional: Sprinkle fresh herbs on top before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcook the halibut; it should be flaky but moist. Allow it to rest for a few minutes after baking.
