  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped Adds a hint of sweetness and a fragrant aroma.
  • 1/4 cup flour Helps to thicken the gravy to that perfect creamy consistency.

  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for enhancing flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds a splash of zing and depth.
  • for serving cooked rice or mashed potatoes Act as cozy pillows for the gravy.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat a bit of your favorite cooking oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, cooking until the beef is browned and crumbly. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Sprinkle the flour on top of the mixture and stir well to combine, soaking up the juices.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.
  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  5. Serve the creamed hamburger gravy over warm rice or fluffy mashed potatoes, optionally topping with fresh parsley.

Notes

Choose ground chuck for better flavor. Don't rush the mixing to avoid lumps. Adjust consistency by adding more milk if needed. For variations, try ground turkey, add cheese, veggies, or herbs for an elevated flavor.
