Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove bacon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
- Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces and set aside.
- Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil on both sides.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper over both sides of chicken.
Cooking
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat over medium-high and add the seasoned chicken breasts.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the cheese.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions and add red pepper flakes if desired.
Serving
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, corn, or a fresh salad, and drizzle extra barbecue sauce on top.
Notes
For extra juiciness, marinate the chicken for a few hours before cooking. Customize spices and toppings as desired.
