  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices bacon Cook until crispy
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce For flavor
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped For garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For heat
Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove bacon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
  4. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces and set aside.
  5. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil on both sides.
  6. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper over both sides of chicken.
Cooking
  1. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat over medium-high and add the seasoned chicken breasts.
  2. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  4. Crumble the cooked bacon over the cheese.
  5. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions and add red pepper flakes if desired.
Serving
  1. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, corn, or a fresh salad, and drizzle extra barbecue sauce on top.

Notes

For extra juiciness, marinate the chicken for a few hours before cooking. Customize spices and toppings as desired.
