Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 box boxed cake mix (chocolate, lemon, red velvet, etc.) Choose your preferred flavor.
  • 1 container Cool Whip Regular or lite version.
  • 1-2 large eggs Use 1 egg for smaller batches, 2 for larger.
Optional Additions
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract To enhance flavor.
  • mix-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruits) Add as desired.
Coating
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For rolling the dough balls.

Method

Preparing the Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the cake mix, add the Cool Whip and eggs. If using flavorings or mix-ins, add them now.
  2. Mix thoroughly using a spatula or wooden spoon until all ingredients are well combined. The dough will be sticky.
Shaping and Rolling
  1. Lightly dust your hands with powdered sugar to manage the stickiness.
  2. Scoop small portions of the dough, about 1 inch in diameter, and roll them into balls.
  3. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
Baking Process
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until slightly cracked and set but soft.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.

Notes

To manage sticky dough, consider chilling it for 20-30 minutes before rolling. Use a cookie scoop for uniform sizes to ensure even baking.
