Ingredients

  • 20 pretzel rods
  • 12 oz candy melts red, green, and white, divided
  • holiday sprinkles assorted types
  • mini M&Ms or crushed peppermint optional toppings
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil or shortening optional, to thin candy melts

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking Sheet
  • Tall Glass (optional)

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set out melted candy melts, sprinkles, and optional toppings.
  2. Melt candy melts in microwave-safe bowls in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Add vegetable oil if needed to thin.
  3. Dip each pretzel rod halfway into the melted candy, letting the excess drip off. Quickly decorate with sprinkles and toppings before the coating sets.
  4. Place decorated rods on parchment paper to cool. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes if needed to help set the coating.

Notes

Use a tall glass to dip rods for an even coating. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 10 days. Avoid freezing to prevent candy coating from cracking.
