Preparation
- Cut the beef fat into small cubes.
- Place the fat into a large pot and cover it with water.
Cooking
- Heat the pot over low heat.
- Stir occasionally until the fat starts to melt.
- Once melted, strain the liquid through a cheesecloth into a jar.
- Allow it to cool and solidify.
Notes
Store the tallow in a cool, dark place or in the fridge to keep it fresh. It can last several months.
