- Slice the hot dogs into 1/4-inch rounds.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil if using and sauté the hot dogs until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add baked beans to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Add brown sugar, yellow mustard, and garlic powder. Stir well.
- Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot, optionally with bread, rice, or cornbread.
Notes
For a gourmet twist, try using smoked sausage instead of hot dogs, or add diced bell peppers and onions for extra flavor.
