Method
 

  1. Slice the hot dogs into 1/4-inch rounds.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil if using and sauté the hot dogs until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and add baked beans to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Add brown sugar, yellow mustard, and garlic powder. Stir well.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot, optionally with bread, rice, or cornbread.
