If a cinnamon sugar donut and a tender pound cake had a love child, this would be it. Cinnamon Donut Bread is soft, buttery, and packed with warm cinnamon flavor, all wrapped in a sugary crust that’s giving big donut energy.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg, then mix in yogurt (or sour cream), milk, and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix.
Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle a layer of cinnamon sugar, add remaining batter, and top with more cinnamon sugar. Swirl with a knife if desired.
Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in pan before transferring to a rack.
Notes
This loaf is freezer-friendly. Slice and wrap individually to enjoy later. Toast for a caramelized edge.
