Cinnamon Donut Bread

If a cinnamon sugar donut and a tender pound cake had a love child, this would be it. Cinnamon Donut Bread is soft, buttery, and packed with warm cinnamon flavor, all wrapped in a sugary crust that’s giving big donut energy.

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • ground cinnamon
  • salt

Wet Ingredients

  • unsalted butter softened
  • granulated sugar
  • egg
  • plain yogurt or sour cream
  • milk
  • vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • cinnamon sugar for swirling and topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg, then mix in yogurt (or sour cream), milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle a layer of cinnamon sugar, add remaining batter, and top with more cinnamon sugar. Swirl with a knife if desired.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in pan before transferring to a rack.

Notes

This loaf is freezer-friendly. Slice and wrap individually to enjoy later. Toast for a caramelized edge.
