Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until creamy and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until light and airy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring gently.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using). Use a small cookie scoop to portion out the dough.
Baking
- Place the scooped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Use room temperature butter for easy mixing and do not overmix after adding flour.
