Wet Ingredients
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 sticks real butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • walnut pieces optional, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until creamy and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until light and airy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring gently.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using). Use a small cookie scoop to portion out the dough.
Baking
  1. Place the scooped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  3. Let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Use room temperature butter for easy mixing and do not overmix after adding flour.
