Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. Alternatively, freeze them for longer storage. Ensure they cool completely before freezing. Customize with nuts or different chocolates for variations.
