Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well-mixed.
  3. Add in the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water. Your batter will be thin, which is expected.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter directly into the prepared pans.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. Once cooled, frost the cakes with your favorite chocolate frosting.
