Frosting and Decoration
  • 2 cups Buttercream Frosting Homemade or store-bought, vanilla or colored.
  • 1 cup Decorative Edibles Think chocolate shavings, edible glitter, or fondant.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch baking pans.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Stir until smooth.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
Cooling
  1. Once baked, let the cakes rest in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting & Decorating
  1. Once cooled, spread a generous layer of buttercream on the top of one cake, place the second cake on top, and frost the entire cake as desired.
