Ingredients

For the bites
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 1 can about 21 oz cherry pie filling
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar (optional, for topping)
Optional glaze
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Place ½ teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each triangle.
  5. Add 1–2 cherries with a little filling on top of the cream cheese.
  6. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. It’s okay if a little filling peeks out.
  7. Place the sealed bites on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar if you like.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Glazing
  1. For the optional glaze, stir powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over slightly cooled bites.

Notes

Cherry Pie Bites can be served warm on their own or paired with coffee or tea. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to a week. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to warm up.
