Preparation
- Put sugar and water into a saucepan over medium heat. Warm until all of the sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Juice the limes.
- Fill a half-gallon pitcher about half full with ice.
- Add the sugar water and lime juice to the pitcher.
- Toss in a few Maraschino cherries and a few tablespoons of juice from the jar.
- Add water to taste and enjoy.
Serving
- Pour the Cherry Limeade over ice in glasses. Garnish with extra cherries or lime slices.
Storage
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week in a sealed pitcher or container.
- Stir well before serving if it has been sitting for a while.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar. For a fizzy version, use sparkling water instead of still water when serving. Adding fresh mint leaves can enhance the flavor.
