  • 1 cup maraschino cherries Drained and patted dry
  • 8 oz white chocolate High-quality for melting

For Muffin Preparation

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • 1 cup sour cherries Pitted
  • 1 cup buttercream With melted white chocolate
  • 1 cup chocolate glaze

Method
 

Preparation for White Chocolate-Covered Cherries
  1. Drain maraschino cherries and pat them dry.
  2. Melt white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Dip each cherry into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated.
  4. Place dipped cherries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate sets.
Preparation for Muffins
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir gently.
  5. Fold in dried cherries and white chocolate chips.
  6. Spoon batter into a lined muffin tin and bake until golden brown.
Preparation for Donauwelle Cake
  1. Prepare plain and chocolate pound cake batter, layering with sour cherries.
  2. Bake until done and top with buttercream containing melted white chocolate.
  3. Finish with a layer of chocolate glaze.
