Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 more minute.
Mixing
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, half of the shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika together until well combined.
Assembly
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Serving
- If desired, garnish with sliced green onions before serving. Serve hot.
Notes
To store leftovers, place the casserole in an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep for about 3–4 days. When ready to enjoy again, reheat in the microwave or in the oven until warm throughout. For freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil before placing in the freezer. It can last up to 2–3 months.
