Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour This forms the foundation of your rolls.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Balances the flavors and helps the yeast.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast The star ingredient for fluffy dough.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances all sweet flavors.
  • 1/2 cup warm milk Activates the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Adds richness to the rolls.
  • 1 large egg Binds the ingredients together.
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Essential for a cozy flavor.
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples Adds natural sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce The star of the show!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. After it’s foamy, add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the mixture. Gradually stir in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Assembly
  1. Roll out the dough onto a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  2. Spread the warm caramel sauce generously over the surface, then sprinkle with cinnamon and diced apples.
  3. Carefully roll the dough up into a log, starting from one long edge.
  4. Use a sharp knife to cut into slices about 1-2 inches wide and place them into a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover the rolls and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Once baked, drizzle some additional caramel sauce over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Bring your butter, egg, and milk to room temperature for an even warmer dough. Always check the yeast expiration date for best results. Allow the dough to rise adequately for fluffy rolls.
