Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 200 g pasta (any shape you prefer) For a heartier texture, opt for fettuccine or penne.
  • 300 g sausage (cooked and sliced) Use smoked sausage for depth of flavor or turkey sausage for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Cajun seasoning Consider using a premium brand for richer flavor.
  • 1 cup bell peppers (chopped) Red, yellow, or green; mix for color!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sliced sausage. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Incorporate the chopped bell peppers into the skillet, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet, followed by Cajun seasoning. Stir well and allow to bubble gently for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and gently toss for 1-2 minutes to ensure it's well-coated.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with parsley or Parmesan cheese. Pairs well with a crisp side salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
