Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground chicken A leaner option that still provides plenty of juicy flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adds a punch of spice—don’t skimp on it!
  • 1 medium onion, diced For an aromatic base; it brings sweetness and depth to flavor.
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced Adds a pop of color and a fresh crunch.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic charm.
  • 1 cup tomato sauce Adds moisture and richness.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Elevates the flavors with umami.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for balancing flavors.
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns Soft, pillowy buns are the perfect vessel.
  • Optional toppings (sliced jalapeños, shredded cheese, parsley) Customizable based on preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the diced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté them until they're soft and fragrant—about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, cooking until the chicken is no longer pink and browned.
  4. Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, followed by the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Scoop the chicken mixture onto the hamburger buns and add optional toppings before serving.

Notes

You can prep the chicken mixture a day ahead. It will last up to 3 days in the fridge. For storage, freeze in airtight bags or containers for up to 3 months.
