Ingredients
  

Vegetable Mixture
  • 1 head Cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot, shredded
  • 1 medium Capsicum, chopped
  • 4 stalks Spring Onions, chopped Use green tops for added color
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated Freshly grated for best flavor
Binders and Seasonings
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch For extra crunch
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Sauce Adjust for spice level
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
For Frying
  • Oil as needed Oil for frying Use a neutral oil with high smoke point

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Finely chop the cabbage, carrot, capsicum, and spring onions into small pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chopped veggies with minced garlic and grated ginger.
  3. Add the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, soy sauce, chili sauce, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and mix well until combined.
Cooking
  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls and drop them into the hot oil, frying until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Remove the balls and let them drain on a paper towel.
  4. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier option, you can air-fry these by brushing them with oil before air-frying. You can also prep the vegetable mixture a day ahead and store it in the fridge.
