Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple juice, cinnamon, and cloves. Whisk until smooth.
- Place the spiral ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down.
Baking
- Brush the glaze mixture generously over the surface of the ham, ensuring to get it between the slices.
- Loosely cover the ham with foil.
- Bake for about 15 minutes per pound. Baste occasionally.
- During the last 30 minutes, remove the foil to allow the glaze to caramelize.
Serving
- Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C). Elevate the flavors with fresh herbs or experiment with different mustards or fruit juices.
