  • 1/4 cup apple juice Use unsweetened apple juice for a balanced flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Provides warmth and spice to the glaze.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves A pinch adds complexity to the flavor.
Main Ingredient
  • 1 each spiral-cut ham Pre-sliced ham for easy glazing and serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple juice, cinnamon, and cloves. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Place the spiral ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down.
Baking
  1. Brush the glaze mixture generously over the surface of the ham, ensuring to get it between the slices.
  2. Loosely cover the ham with foil.
  3. Bake for about 15 minutes per pound. Baste occasionally.
  4. During the last 30 minutes, remove the foil to allow the glaze to caramelize.
Serving
  1. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C). Elevate the flavors with fresh herbs or experiment with different mustards or fruit juices.
