  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Consider using seasoned breadcrumbs or panko.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten Egg alternatives: unsweetened applesauce or egg replacement products for vegan.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Dip each trimmed asparagus spear into the beaten egg, allowing any excess egg to drip off, then coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the coated asparagus spears in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
Cooking
  1. Cook for 8-10 minutes, checking occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Serve warm as a side dish or snack.

Notes

For best texture, serve hot. Optional garnishes: balsamic glaze, fresh herbs, lemon zest, or extra Parmesan. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
