Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Batter
  • ½ cup light tasting oil (like canola or avocado)
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • cup milk chocolate chips
For the Cherry Swirl
  • 1 cup cherry sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 square baking pan with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the light oil and granulated sugar using a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the eggs, water, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until combined.
  4. Sift the cocoa powder and salt over the mixture, then stir well to combine.
  5. Gradually stir in the flour until just incorporated. Then, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Spread half of the brownie batter over the bottom of the prepared pan and level it with the back of a spoon.
  2. Drizzle half of the cherry sauce on top and swirl it with a spoon.
  3. Add the remaining brownie batter on top and level it again.
  4. Swirl the remaining cherry sauce over the top of the brownie batter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Top with whipped cream, fresh cherries, and shaved chocolate. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
