Preparation
- Prepare a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large pot, melt the salted butter over medium heat.
- Add the fresh marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Mix in the kosher salt, vanilla, almond extract, and coconut extract if using.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture and mix well, working quickly to prevent the marshmallow from hardening.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and gently press it into shape using damp hands.
- Allow the Rice Krispies to cool at room temperature for about an hour or less for gooey bars.
- Lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut them into squares.
Notes
Store any leftovers in a tightly sealed container at room temperature. They will last for 3-5 days. Avoid freezing as it alters the texture.
