  • 2 cans 14.5 oz each cut green beans, drained Use canned green beans, well-drained.
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup Creamy base for the casserole.
  • ¾ cup milk Enhances creaminess.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Add more for extra spice.
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional) For added flavor, use if desired.
  • 1 cup French fried onions For topping, adds crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, and soy sauce (if using). Stir well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  2. After 25 minutes, remove the casserole and stir it gently.
  3. Top with the French fried onions, then return to the oven.
  4. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Serve warm, paired perfectly with roast turkey, ham, or any main dish.

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder. Fresh green beans can be used; just steam until tender before mixing. Experiment with toppings like cheese or crackers. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
