Ingredients
  

For the Roasted Garlic
  • 8-10 cloves garlic cloves Fresh is best for aroma.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Adds richness.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
For the Garlic Butter Custard
  • ½ cup butter, melted Lends a luscious texture.
  • 1 whole egg Ensures custard-like consistency.
  • ¼ cup milk Adds moisture.
  • ½ tsp salt For seasoning.
  • ½ tsp paprika Adds warmth.
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley For freshness.
For Assembly
  • 12 pieces King's Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls Super soft and sweet.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Melty, gooey goodness.
  • to taste chopped parsley and chili flakes For serving.

Method
 

Roasted Garlic
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice off the top of the whole garlic bulb, exposing the individual cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
  3. Wrap in foil and roast for about 30 minutes until caramelized and soft.
Garlic Butter Custard
  1. In a bowl, combine the roasted garlic cloves with melted butter, egg, milk, and seasonings (salt and paprika). Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt or paprika for flavor.
Assembly
  1. Cut the King's Hawaiian rolls in half while keeping them attached in a sheet.
  2. Generously slather the garlic butter custard on each half.
  3. Top with a heap of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top and finish with chili flakes if desired.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cheesy.

Don’t rush the roasting of the garlic; choose fresh herbs for best flavor. Mix cheeses for a twist, and watch the bread closely while baking.
