Method
Preparation of Strawberry Syrup
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh strawberries, sugar, and water.
- Stir occasionally while bringing the mixture to a boil until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat, cover, and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- After cooling, press the syrup through a mesh sieve in small batches and discard the pulp and seeds.
Making the Sangria
- In a large pitcher, combine 1/4 cup of the strawberry syrup with the chilled moscato, limoncello, mixed berries, mint leaves, and lemon slices.
Serving
- Pour the sangria into ice-filled stemware, making sure to scoop some fruit into each glass.
- Garnish with a strawberry slotted onto the edge of the glass.
Notes
Berry Sangria is best served cold. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine and limoncello with sparkling water or fruit juice blend. Store any leftovers in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator, best if consumed within one day.
