Ingredients

Stir-Fry Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 2 large beef tomatoes cut into wedges
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Wok or large skillet

Method

  1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce and a pinch of pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce: Mix oyster sauce, cornstarch slurry, and a bit of water in a separate bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add onions and bell peppers. Cook until they begin to soften.
  4. Increase the heat to high and add the marinated beef. Stir-fry until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  5. Add tomato wedges and cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce, stirring continuously until it thickens and evenly coats the beef and vegetables.
  7. Remove from heat and serve over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of sesame oil or a sprinkle of chili flakes. Serve with jasmine rice for an authentic experience.
